Eighth grader Sam Bayer, seventh grader Lee Buermann, and sixth grader Jared Eickhoff have been selected as Students of the Month at Paynesville Area Middle School for the month of February.

Jared likes playing basketball, football, and soccer and also likes swimming.

His teachers say that he is an independent worker who does thorough work, a creative thinker who shares ideas in class, and that he is interested in his studies.

Hard work, a positive attitude, friendliness, and helping others are reasons that Lee Buermann, the son of Arn and Lucy Buermann, thinks he won the award. He was happy to win and was waiting to do so.

In school, Lee sings in the choir and plays baseball. He also likes to fish and play on the computer.

According to his teachers, Lee is responsible, polite, considerate, and works for academic excellence.

Doing good in school is why Sam Bayer, the son of Bruce and Peggy Bayer, thinks he was selected. He was happy to receive the award.

He plays in the band and plays on the school's football, baseball, and basketball teams. He likes sports, hunting, and fishing.
