February Students of the Month honored

The teachers at the Paynesville Area Middle School have checked and double checked their lists and have announced their selection for February Students of the Month.

Representing the sixth grade are Kayla Dingmann and Casey Kussatz; seventh grade, Jordan Haag and Bridgette Johnson; eighth grade, Sara Boeck and Travis Mohr.

Kayla Dingmann’s teachers state she is a very dependable student, well liked and respected by her peers and teachers. The daughter of Pete and Sue Dingmann, rural Richmond, Kayla enjoys playing basketball and reading. She is a member of the sixth grade choir, book club, and religion class. When asked about her feelings on being student of the month, Kayla replied, “I feel fine.”

Casey Kussatz’s teachers state he is a tremendous reader, is self-motivated, a conscientious student, and adds to class discussions. The son of Kraig and Linda Kussatz, Paynesville, Casey lists as his interests, football, basketball, hockey, baseball, and listening to music. He is also a member of the sixth grade band. When asked about his feelings towards his education and being chosen as student of the month, Casey replied, “I like to learn new things. I was also surprised and proud at being named student of the month.”

Jordan Haag’s teachers state he is a very friendly student who always seems to be in a good mood. Jordan applies himself in the classroom and is a good contributor in class discussions. The son of Dan and Connie Haag, rural Paynesville, Jordan lists as his interests, basketball and playing Nintendo 64. He is a member of the seventh grade basketball and football teams, choir, and band. When asked about his feelings on being student of the month Jordan replied, “I think it is cool.”

Bridgette Johnson’s teacher state she is very personable with a great deal of charisma. Bridgette is always positive in school, is a good athlete, and really enjoys the school atmosphere. The daughter of David and Lori Johnson, rural Grove City, Bridgette lists as her interests reading, snowmobiling, playing basketball, and 4-H. When asked about her feelings on being student of the month Bridgette replied, “I think it’s cool.”

Sara Boeck’s teachers state she is a very bright, clever student who really adds to class discussion. As a new student, Sara has adjusted quite well and is a good addition to our school. The daughter of Peggy Boeck, Paynesville and Bob Boeck, Richmond, she lists as her interests listening to music, talking on the phone, and playing guitar. She is a member of the Knowledge Bowl and plans on playing softball in the spring. When asked about her feelings on being student of the month Sara replied, “I am honored to be student of the month.”

Travis Mohr’s teachers state he is a serious student who pushes himself in the classroom. Travis also seems to really enjoy the entire school environment. The son of Nate and Michelle Mohr, Paynesville, Travis lists as his interests basketball and playing Playstation. When asked about his feelings on being student of the month Travis replied, “I was surprised.”
