More than 3,000 teachers of college writing courses are expected to attend the conference, which will have over 450 workshops and sessions.
The Conference on College Composition and Communication has over 8,000 individual members, and the National Council of Teachers of English has 60,000 members worldwide.
Lourey, who lives in Alexandria, is currently working on her third mystery novel, "Knee High by the Fourth of July." In addition to teaching, she enjoys raising her kids, reading, and gardening.
