Hospital board reorganizes for the year

In its first regular meeting in the new year, the Paynesville Area Hospital District Board of Directors reorganized itself. Its meetings will still be held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 8 p.m. at the hospital.

Its officers will remain the same for the next year: Don Thomes, chairperson; Doug Ruhland, vice chairperson; Carolyn Swyter, treasurer; and Diane Rothstein, clerk.

Its bank of record, since 1955, will continue to be Farmers and Merchants State Bank. Its newspaper of record is The Paynesville Press, its legal counsel is the Frauenshuh and Spooner, P.A., and its auditor is Deloitte and Touche.

One change in the board committee assignment was Rich Philabaum, who represents the city of Roscoe, will serve on the Building and Grounds Committee with Mel Jones (Roseville Township) and Dr. Mike Hansen (Union Grove Township).

Philabaum replaced Don Anderson (city of Paynesville), who will continue to serve on the Joint Management Committee that meets with a group of physicians. Bob Brauchler (city of Regal) also serves on this committee as does board chairman Don Thomes (Zion Township). Doctors on the committee are Dr. Bob Gardner, chief of staff; Dr. Tom Sult, and Dr. Randy Zimmerman.

The board's Personnel Committee includes Doug Ruhland (city of Eden Valley), Carolyn Swyter (member at large), and Thomes.

The board also approved increasing their per diem for meetings to $40 from $25.

Other business
„Willie LaCroix, hospital system administrator, told the board that the ambulance corps had all three of its ambulances inspected on Jan. 27 by the State of Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board. Not a single deficiency was found. "It's a real credit to Steve (Stang) and his crew," said LaCroix. "I think they do a great job."

„Through the minutes of the Joint Management Committee, the board approved an evaluation of Rosemary Devlin, the clinic manager, and also a raise for her. Over half of her salary will be paid by the physician's group.

„The board approved having three overdue accounts turned over for collection. The three accounts total $8,300.

„The board was informed of an open house for the new Richmond Area Medical Clinic on Sunday, March 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
