Cyrilla Beach changes ownership

By Bonnie Jo Hanson

new owner of cyrilla beachCyrilla Beach Homes in Paynesville Township has new owners. Starting Jan. 1, Dale Davis and Chuck Inderieden took ownership of the business. Davis will be the managing partner.

Davis, who is moving to the area from Cambridge, was formerly a part-owner of Cedar Creek Homes in Mora, Minn., and has several years of experience with helping families find the modular or manufactured home that fits their needs.

Cyrilla Beach Homes was founded in 1972 by Frank Dillon, a native of Eden Valley who retired after becoming president and part owner of 35 Piggly Wiggly stores in Minnesota. Frank bought 120 acres on Rice Lake, now known as Cyrilla Beach Point, a development which he named for his wife, who was a native of Lake Henry.

Originally Frank sold mobile homes on these lake lots. Then he opened Cyrilla Beach Homes at its current location on Highway 55 later in 1972. Frank intended the business to be a hobby for his retirement.

Frank's son Dick bought the business from his father and ran it until this sale.

According to Davis, Dillon - who is now retired - provided outstanding customer service and Davis plans to do the same.

A few changes can be noted at Cyrilla Beach Homes. The business is now closed on Sundays, although Davis will show homes by appointment. Along with Davis, some new faces can seen at Cyrilla Beach Homes. Bob Applehoff and John Inderieden will work in sales. Current employees Stacy Weurtz and Dan Ruprecht will continue to work at the business.
