Middle school names January Students of the Month

Jan. students The Paynesville Area Middle School recently announced their January Students of the Month.

Selected by the staff were: sixth grade, Jack Mueller and Chelsey Leukam; seventh grade, Amanda Glenz and Chad Stang; eighth grade, Jenny Berg and Josh Price.

Jack Mueller (front left) is the son of Andy and Kelly Mueller, Lake Henry. His teachers state he is a good communicator, always smiles, is eager to help, and is very prepared for class. Mueller lists as his interests, baseball, football, and basketball. He also enjoys wrestling. When asked about his feelings on being chosen Student of the Month, Mueller replied, “I’m happy to be Student of the Month.”

Chelsey Leukam (center front) is the daughter of Mark and Brenda Leukam, rural Paynesville. Her teachers state she is a good listener, is attentive in class, is helpful, fun to be around, and is always smiling. Leukam lists as her interests, shopping, talking on the telephone, listening to music, and going to her friend’s house. Her extracurricular activities include serving on the middle school youth advisory committee, speech, and choir. When asked about being chosen as Student of the Month Leukam replied, “I’m excited and happy.”

Amanda Glenz (back left) is the daughter of Brad and Debra Glenz, rural Paynesville. Her teachers state she is quiet, reserved, polite, a good worker, and well liked. Glenz lists as her interests golfing, swimming, watching baseball, and being with friends. She was a member of the seventh grade volleyball team, and plays basketball and golf. When asked about her feelings on being chosen Student of the Month, Glenz replied, “I’m glad I was chosen as Student of the Month.”

Chad Stang (front right) is the son of Bruce and Bernie Stang, Paynesville. His teachers state he is outgoing, a good thinker, popular, curious, and inquisitive. Stang lists as his interests dirt biking, snowmobiling, basketball, and baseball. He is a member of the seventh grade basketball and baseball team and seventh grade band. When asked about being chosen Student of the Month, Stang replied, “It’s awesome, at least I know I’m doing good in school.”

Jenny Berg (back right) is the daughter of Linda Berg, Paynesville. Her teachers state she has a very strong work ethic, is respectful of teachers and other students, and has a positive attitude. Berg lists as her interests listening to music, playing video games, talking on the phone, animals, and playing sports with her family. She is a member of the eighth grade basketball and volleyball teams. When asked about being chosen Student of the Month, Berg replied, “I’m happy.”

Josh Price (back center) is the son of Dan and Connie Ludwig, rural Paynesville. His teachers state he is a good listener, respectful of others, and seems to enjoy the school environment. Price lists as his interests snow-mobiling and playing basketball. He is a member of the eighth grade basketball team. When asked about being chosen Student of the Month, Price replied, “I didn’t think I would ever become Student of the Month after three years.”
