Filings open for township officials

Filings opened Tuesday, Jan. 14, for township officers across the state. Anyone interested in serving on their local township board can file with their township clerks before Jan. 28. Elections are held on Tuesday, March 11.

To be eligible to file for office a person must be: 1) an eligible voter; 2) not have filed an affidavit as a candidate at the same election; 3) be or will be 21 years old before assuming office; 4) be a resident of the township 30 days before the election.

Positions up for election are three-year terms for supervisor and two-year terms for treasurer:
Paynesville Township: John Olson, supervisor, and Sharon Wendroth, treasurer; file with clerk Don Wiese
Eden Lake Township: Loren Eull, supervisor, Don Schlangen, treasurer; file with clerk Norvald Sogge.
Union Grove Township: Floyd Wait, supervisor, and LeRoy Thomsen, treasurer; file with clerk Loren Pearson.
St. Martin Township: Clarence Olmscheid, supervisor, and LeRoy Garding, treasurer; file with clerk Don Rausch.
Munson Township: Daniel Holthaus, supervisor, and LeRoy Gertken, treasurer; file with clerk Kathleen Hemmesch.
Zion Township: Duane Burg, supervisor, and Carol Wegner, treasurer; file with clerk Carolyn Reeck.
Irving Township: Harlow Olson, supervisor, and Howard Powers, treasurer; file with clerk Joyce Strootman.
Roseville Township: Foster Hudson, supervisor, and Terry Schaefer, treasurer; file with clerk Pat Fenske.
Lake Henry Township: Gary Olmscheid, supervisor, and Ray Loxtercamp, treasurer; file with clerk Ralph Klassen.
Manannah Township: Luverne Becker, supervisor, and Jeanine Shepersky, treasurer; file with clerk Jan Rossmeisl.
