Zion Township needs to be heard on
Highway 23

To the Editor:
If the Paynesville community, businesses, schools, churches, etc., are important to you, "North of Towners" should make certain they are heard at the public hearing on Highway 23 on Tuesday, June 28, at the school auditorium starting at 5:30 p.m. with an open house question-and-answer period and followed by a formal presentation period at 7 p.m.

Those who have studied copies of the maps on the MnDOT website and have talked to officials regarding the future route of Highway 23 say there is no convenient access to Paynesville from the north if the west or far west bypass is chosen.

Zion Township has formed a task force regarding this issue, but many voices need to be heard now before it's too late. Many are saying the future route has already been decided with the west or far west being the most likely, but we need to make certain we won't have to travel many extra miles to get into town.

North of town is a large area that positively impacts Paynesville's economy, so it's necessary to have a suitable access/exit.
